In addition to the FEBS Congress 2026 offering a lower registration fee for all younger scientists, the following FEBS support schemes are available for members of FEBS Constituent Societies:
For early-career researchers: FEBS bursaries
Early-career researchers presenting their work at the 50th FEBS Congress may be eligible to apply for a FEBS bursary to support participation.
FEBS bursaries aim to help PhD students and postdocs (within 5 years of receiving their PhD) from outside the host country participate in a FEBS Congress when submitting an abstract to the event as first author. For the FEBS Congress 2026, FEBS bursaries will cover the ‘Young scientist’ early registration fee, and make a €450 contribution towards travel/accommodation.
Full details on eligibility and how to apply are on the FEBS bursaries page.
Application deadline: 13 February 2026.
For PhD holders from certain disadvantaged FEBS countries: the FEBS Congress Mathias Sprinzl Scheme
This is a 50% reduced early-bird registration fee available for scientists resident/working in Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Morocco, Moldova, Tunisia and Ukraine who are submitting an abstract to the Congress as first author and are not eligible for FEBS Congress bursaries.
Find more information on eligibility and other details, see the Sprinzl scheme webpage. There are also a small number of Sprinzl travel grants available.
Application deadline: 13 February 2025.
