Important Deadlines

Academic: Scientists employed by academic, research or scientific organizations.

Non-academic: Non-academic / industry delegates.

Young scientist Up to 35 years of age (at time of registration payment), except if studies were started later, or were delayed by maternity leave (18 months per child), prolonged illness or other personal reasons; a scanned copy of ID showing date of birth (and any additional supporting docs for over 35s with special circumstances) is to be provided during registration.

FEBS Congress Participant Support Schemes

FEBS YSF grants

The FEBS Young Scientists’ Forum (YSF) is a pre-Congress meeting for PhD students and postdocs. Those selected to take part receive YSF grants that support their attendance at the YSF and ensuing Congress.

Application deadline: 10 December 2025 through the abstract submission portal

FEBS Congress bursaries

FEBS Congress bursaries are given by FEBS to help selected early-career researchers in FEBS countries other than the host country participate in a FEBS Congress.

Application deadline: 13 February 2026 through the abstract submission portal

FEBS Sprinzl Scheme

The FEBS Congress Mathias Sprinzl scheme offers a 50% reduction in the early registration fee of selected applicants from Hinari (Research4Life) countries in the FEBS area. There are also a small number of Sprinzl travel grants available.
